Welcome back to Term 4.
Thursday 30th March 2017
Children in Oak Class had a brilliant time on Thursday visiting Moulton Windmill (the tallest in England), learning about the history of the mill and the restoration project still ongoing. We then went to visit the residents of Abbeygate Rest Home next door, enjoying lunch in their peaceful garden before an Easter Bonnet parade.
There were smiles across the generations as the children proudly showed off their bonnets. We finished the afternoon with delicious home made cakes before promising that, although this was our first visit, it won't be the last after such a warm welcome!
Friday 24th March was Comic Relief Day and we wore red themed clothing with all donations going to 'Red Nose Day'
To celebrate Science Week we started with a brilliant assembly on Monday morning where Peter West gave a demonstration and talk about Kites from all over the world.
During the course of Monday he visited individual classes where the children were enthralled by his enthusiasm for kites. In the afternoon they went outdoors to feel the sensation of flying some large stunt kites.
Later in the week we all made a kite to fly, taking time to iron out any pitfalls and sometimes getting into knots!
By Friday we were ready to enjoy all being outside in brilliant gusts of wind to see how well out kites performed. They were excellent and we all now know what great fun kite flying is. We hope the children continue to enjoy them at home. Happy flying!
WEDNESDAY 15TH MARCH 2017
Mr Jefferies cam in to school to tell us all about staying safe when using technology. We learnt about the blue light that devics use, and switching off devices one hour before bedtime.
We also discussed telling a grown up if we see something online that worries us, and we learnt about keyboard warriors. We watched the video 'Kim and Lee' and discussed not telling people our personal information. We also learnt Sid's four top tips.
Ask us to tell you about it at home because we listened really well!
On Wednesday 1st March we dressed up as our favourite book character for World Book Day. Well done everyone for joining in, the costumes were all brilliant!
In Music on Thursday 23rd February we explored sounds around the classroom. we created a classroom sound map score and played our sounds when instructed, following the score.
