Peterborough Museum Trip
What a absolutely brilliant day! It went far too quickly and we were sad to leave but we learnt so much and had a great time. Please ask us about what we did!
Please remember that homework projects are due in on Monday. We will then have time to prepare for the children from other classes to come in later in the week to see what we have done!
Projects- one piece art based, one piece written. I am looking forward to seeing all the projects in class.
A great morning!
We had a wonderful introduction to the Tales and Birdal, puppet making and drama this morning. Next Wednesday afternoon should be great entertainment!
The designing, drawing and painting has now been finished. We just have the handles to make before we can form our testudo and head off into battle!
Breakfast Club Learning!
It it great when the children in the class fetch me to show off their work in breakfast club! Well done to all the children who start their learning even before the school day officially starts.
We have our workshop in school on Wednesday which we are really looking forward to. Please help your child to complete a short task that they are bringing home on Friday in preparation for the workshop. The following Wednesday (11th), we will be off to the South Holland Centre to watch The Tales of Birdal which will be linked to the work we will have done. Exciting!
A huge well done to all the children who ran the kilometre around Spalding Grammar School field today. I am proud to say that they gave it their best and even came back with medals. The boys received Bronze medals (only ONE point off second place!) and the girls received Silver medals. Fantastic effort everyone.
Wednesday's Rounding Games
Monday's Science Challenge
Can you move the mirrors to help Rani in time? Have a go!
Don't forget to get 1000 points on Mathletics evey week for your certificate in assembly. I was only able to give two certificates out last week for the whole class...
Check out our counting in fours song.
We continued our investigations into light this week, again darkening the classroom and using our scientific minds! We used the torches to investigate reflective surfaces this week and understand why we use reflective surfaces at night time for road signs and some jackets.
Roman Dress Up Afternoon
Almost everyone had their costume last Tuesday afternoon and we looked AMAZING! Please can all parents make sure that their child has their costume for this week. Thank you for your support.

Roald Dahl Dress Up Day
A huge well done to all our parents and carers for the effort you put in to create such super costumes for the children. We had a great day dressed as our characters and have created a class book of drawings which you will be able to see at parents evening.
A huge thank you to parents who brought in cardboard for us to make our Roman shields- it is greatly appreciated that we have your help and support. We have plenty of card now for everyone.
Roman Costume Reminder
We will be wearing our Roman costumes every Tuesday afternoon until Christmas. Please can costumes be in by Tuesday in a named carrier bag. Thank you.
A Great Start
Holly Class have made a great start to our topic work this week, starting with the Celts and Boudicca. We have looked at where the Romans were from and how their Empire grew before arriving in Britain. We have looked at how the local tribes were treated and how Boudicca led a rebellion. The descriptive work and drawings we have done this week about this famous lady have been super!
Our parents meeting will be on Monday at 2:45. I look forward to seeing you all there to talk about what the coming year holds in store for your child. Please come along with any questions (and strong corrugated card for our shields!).
A reminder for children to have a play with the free coding programme "Scratch" at home.
