Through our membership with Inspire+ we have been lucky enough to have specialist coach Katy Johnson to lead orienteering with KS2. Our first lesson was fantastic, so much fun and the weather was perfect! We are looking forward to the next one.
Continuing our investigations into different forces, this week we were investigating air resistance. We were given the task of creating a parachute and finding out which variables made a difference to the air resistance. We could only change one thing - everything else had to stay the same. The variables we investigated were: the size, shape and type of material we used for our parachutes.
In PE we have been continuing our theme in Literacy and we became our mythical creatures to travel around the equipment. We had to think carefully about how our creature would move on each type of equipment.
We had a brilliant morning when we were set the Knex Challenge. Our challenge was to design a Trebuchet.
We will be investigating forces in Science this term. This week we have been learning about Isaac Newton and his discoveries about gravity.
On Wednesday 13th September we celebrated the life of Roald Dahl and dressed up as characters from his books. Look at all our amazing costumes!
Welcome to Elm Class! We are a class of 30 amazing children. This is where you will find out about what we have been doing over the year.
Our topic this term is Ancient Greece.
In Literacy this week we have been learning about Greek myths. We have read several and discussed what we like and don't like about them and we decided what a good myth needs. We then focusd on the myth of Apollo - we wrote a story map with actions and then put our acting skills to the test by choosing a section in groups to act out then putting it together as a class. It was good fun!
